I created PeriLuma with so much love and dedication to help women like you navigate perimenopause with confidence, not confusion, stress, and anxiety. Through natural, science-backed resources and heartfelt support, my mission is to help you reduce stress, understand your changing body, reconnect with your self-worth, and come home to yourself—one kind step at a time.

Like so many women, I spent years putting everyone else first.
I grew up on a farm outside a small, tight-knit community with my amazing mom, dad, two brothers, dog, and numerous cats, before heading off to the city for university, where I met my husband. After graduating with an English degree, we married and raised our two wonderful boys together.
My focus was on creating a loving home, supporting my husband's successful tech business, and raising my kids. And although I enjoyed many fulfilling pursuits like coaching volleyball, working in different aspects of my husband's company, and teaching yoga and fitness, I never really pursued a long-term career.
But life was wonderful, and I truly loved watching my family flourish through the good times and the challenges.

When I'm not creating resources for PeriLuma, you'll usually find me curled up with a cat and a good book, playing video games (League of Legends is my poison of choice), or playing beach volleyball with my group of incredibly athletic women. In the mornings, you will likely find me sweating out a great workout at the gym or exploring a beautiful hiking trail. I deeply treasure quality time with my family and unique, hilarious, and wise friends. I have learned over the years to appreciate that it's often the simplest moments—good conversation, fresh air, laughter, and time together—that bring the greatest sense of joy and balance.
The stress, sleepless nights, emotional overwhelm, and hormonal chaos made me realise something important: somewhere along the way, I'd stopped looking after myself. And I really really felt it - in my body, mind, and emotions.
That journey led me to learn about hormones, stress, and nervous system regulation—but more importantly, it taught me the value of self-love, self-compassion, and coming home to myself - to who I really am deep inside.
Now that my boys are grown, I'm embracing a new season of life by building something that's truly my own.
PeriLuma is my passion project and my business purpose. It's a nurturing space where women can find practical, science-backed tools to reduce stress, understand their changing bodies, and rediscover the woman they've always been.
If there's one thing I hope you remember, it's this:
You are worthy of the same love, care, and compassion you so freely give to everyone else.
I'm so glad you're here.
With love,
Jessica
